So the wife was tired of seeing the biocube without it's hood because it looks funny or so she says. I made a trip to harbor freight to pick up a rotary tool as well as some other odds and ends. Here is what I came up with..

It's about a 15k maybe even closer to 18k. I love the color, just blue enough to make everything pop but still not solid blue.

Do you have a FTS? I'm interested in seeing the light spread in the biocube, is it a 29gal? I have a biocube in the garage taking up space and was hoping to convert it to LED's.

I don't like how bright it is right at the top now that I have it installed in the hood. I plan on making a riser out of either wood or some sort of material that I can paint to match the canopy to make added space between the tank and canopy.

Honestly though I could have made it 1000 times nicer if I would have taken about a week and ordered in a fiberglass kit and really custom fit in onto the hood.

I am currently on the lookout for a hqi hood, I think that would look much nicer, and make getting in and out of the tank much easier.

That's a 30/25 split on the unit, right?
Measured in true degrees Kelvin that would translate to 13.8 kelvin - I had a few of these units measured.
The human eye however can't read true colors, so it might not appear as such...

It seems a bit bluer to me but 14k is nice. I am not a fan of straight 20k it's too blue all the time. If I could have both a 20k fixture and a 14k fixture on the tank at the same time I would do that.
