MY Pearly Jawfish Pair

I've loved these ever since I saw a bunch when we dove in the Turks and Caicos. How deep of a sand bed do the need, how large a tank, and how difficult are they to care for?

I have these in my 75 gallon , Deep sand bed of 5 inches with plenty of Rock and rubble for places to hide and they seem to be secure. I will eventually add 2 more pair after they go thru a QT tank for 3 to 4 weeks

We had one, it was awesome, my wife's favorite fish. It disappeared last week. I have my fingers crossed but not very likely to pop up.

Notorious jumpers. Need to make sure that you have a cover on your tank or something to keep them in. I had a couple of them in my tank but they did not get along at all with my orange spotted goby when I added him. They disappeared as well. I found one in the fish room but never found the other. I swear I saw him one evening but I never saw him again.

I have glass lids, even though I don't want to have class lids. I never thought about checking the sump just in case he jumped into the overflow and took a ride.

Yeah all jawfish are notorious jumpers. I have a canopy with no way for my blue spot to get out but I did have to make a mesh cover for the overflow box. It got old getting him out after the sixth or seventh time. But hey, all jawfish in general are some of the coolest fish.
