Cheers to my first build thread!

i'll have pictures up tomorrow or next weekend once i get a chance to go change out a few of the rocks i thought were too large for my application.

here's what i have so far!

equipment

Solana 34 w/ stand

deltec mce300

icecap pend/ball 250w 14k

mp10

30# marshalls LR

i'm divising a way of seperating zoa's throughout the rock. i want to phase from tubbs blue, or anything vivid blue, all the way through the spectrum and end in candy apple reds and other bright reddish zoas. i might do them on individual rocks, but i was thinking of doing 6 tonga branches jutting out from the rock with different zoas on each.

i'm dedicating the entirity of the floor bed.....to acansssssssssssssssssssss. yay!

so that's my plan.

a zoa and acan farm.

i'll post pictures once i find an aquascape that i like. might not have purchased enough live rock.

lmao. easy for you to say you non-rent-paying man. i'm up to my Klingon ears (on a side note, spellcheck recognized the word Klingon LOL) in bills lol.

I just set up a Solana too...been going for a few months...what live stock do you plan on putting in yours.

I'm in the process of curing some live rock I had sitting around will add it to the tank as soon as it's done.

if i was you i'd add it to the tank if theres nothing in it. unless you already have sand in there. that will give you a lot of time to aquascape without having to worry about hurting fish or corals.

and i'm going with one wrasse, maybe a six-line or mystery. two clowns, a midas blenny, and maybe a goby/tiger pair.

i'm doing acans on the entire floorbed, with sps monti's, a slimer, and some le sps's on the top, and zoas all over my live rock.

i know!!! pictures coming soon sirs. and john what bills do you have??? lol. stay away from them while you can!!

HERE YOU GO GUYS!

Try and give yourself an inch or so around the sides between rock and glass (enough room for your magfloat to pass by without hitting), more if you're gonna have corals right there. If you don't scrub, the algae can take hold and make the area look dirty.

If you get a cleaner shrimp, I'll predict he'll hang upside down right on that main ledge, which would be nice and hopefully keep him in view.

I really like the scape - a lot. The ledges are neat. Only recommendation may be to take that rock against the glass on the front right of the picture and move it inwards a little....

Very cool! Keep up the good work!

yeah i LOVE that one on the front right edge...i just don't know where to put it, lol.

i might make the bottom right ledge more towards the center, and then get rid of the top bright white ridge once i get sps's since that takes up WAY too much room.

and the rock only takes up half the space from front to back. theres a LOT of space there for my acans to grow hehe. so no problem there.

like ya'll said though i need room to grow UP and out to the sidse. haven't decided how to counter that future problem yet, but theres plenty of space for the mag float to go through without touching or getting even close to the rocks

I think you are right to put a lot of thought towards a scape now, so you don't have to overhaul when you get your corals....SPS need some headroom to colonize and you may want to think of where you will put tabling acros and corals so you don't block light from other corals....I think it looks good man, don't overthink it too much!

Join the ARC before the meeting and I'll hook you up with $30+ worth of zoas for free!

Yes, I am incentivising, lol, but these were freebies that were offered to members first for school tanks and other things but I haven't received responses on.
