Fist of all my 120g tank is upstairs and 100g rubbermaid sump is down stairs about 30 ft from the tank. So my son sees a couple of plastic eggs in the sump . He was so excited and I was too. I solved the mystery of the candy wrappers in sump .Long story short.I started on my tank about a year ago .last winter the tank was set in place and ran the plumbing from the stand to the sump but left a 1 1/2 return line pvc stubbed up under my stand so I could finish plumbing it when the time was right.I also had a 2" drain the same way. I guess before I plumbed it all in he decided to throw 3 plastic eggs down the 2" drain. He confessed after I ask him. over the past few months I would come home and find some candy wrapper in the sump and ask him if he was putting trash in my tank he always said no.I hope thats all he threw down the drain. I guess they got partially hung in the line. I hope he didnt put any down the 1 1/2 return line. If you ever leave plumbing exposed while building your system make sure you put cap the lines .

So you've been dosing sugar and didn't even know it.
Great story by the way. Ya gotta love kids

This morning one of my pumps on my swc 300 skimmer quit working So i opened it up and found a jolly rancher wrapper in the mesh. nothing has seem to affect corals at all.
