So I finally got everything setup on my RKE and now I want to setup MyReef 2.0. I have downloaded the software, but now am unsure what to do from here to have it start logging and working with my RKE.

Anyone that has a Reefkeeper and is using MyReef 2.0 if you could tell me how to set it up that would be great.

Thank you in advance!

Have all your modules and PC4's including the head unit running the latest 2.0 firmware?

If so then you need to connect your 2.0 SID to an open port on a module and use the USB to your cpu. Launch myreef and you should be good from there...

Are you running a NET Module? Have you updated the webpage yet?

They are all running 2.0.

The problem is going to be with the fact that the SiD cable is only 3 feet long and my tank is at least 10 feet from my computer.

I am running the Net Module, but not sure if I have updated the webpage. How would I know?

Thanks for the help.

You must have a direct connection with the SID and your cpu in order to take advantage of the 2.0 software. It isnt a true neccesity other than making it way easier to program and you can name all the outlets. I think that is the only thing you cannot do from the head unit

The webpage will say NET Webserver 2.0 at the top. The 2.0 webpage allows you to turn on and off outlets remotely.

I guess I could hook it up through my laptop(probably should have already thought of that), but I would rather have it on my PC.

They don't have a SID Card with a longer cable listed on their website.

You would need a female/female connector and a longer cord. You only need to connect for easier programmimg. I only hook up once a month or so

I will have to checK into the connector.

Thanks for all the help gnashty!

DA Sent me a connector with my new SID because I asked for it and use a Remote Display that you cant update without a connector (SID Bus side is male and RD1 is male) - I dont think you can just go to home depot and get one.

I have my SID close to my computer and a 10 foot cable from the SID to my first DA device under my tank. I like to be able to look at the history graphs that you get if Myreef 2.0 stays connected to the reef keeper.

Other than the data history you can simply use Mt Reef 2.0 to program your devices and flash firmware.

Naming devices is GREAT! Way easier to work with when each device on your PC4's is named.

What kind of cable are you using and where did you get it? Thanks!

I prefer the graphing available on the webpage personally - just looks cleaner.

Im not sure those would work long term, DA is very specific about not using regular connectors as it will instantly void the warranty. Their connectors seem to be pinned differently so regular ones may work short term but will ultimately give you problems down the road

You can get longer cables at the DA Site - Some ppl make thier own though...
