... and what you use it for.

The item is something you would NOT buy at a fish store yet you've found a use for it in the hobby. You might buy it at Lowe's/HD or Wal-Mart. Or it might be something you have around the house like in a kitchen drawer.

Don't name the same thing someone else does, unless you have another use for the item that no one else mentions, and let's see how long a list we can come up with.

I'll start:

1) Turkey Baster. Uses: dispensing food to certain corals (like sun corals and plate corals); dusting live rock and corals; syphoning diatoms or red slime algae from sandbed or rocks.

Turkey Basters are wonderful. I wish I could find one that is 2 feet long!

How about plastic forceps - for handling/picking at things under water, without having to worry about rust or anything...

<li>Toothbrush which is great for cleaning off stubborn algae from rocks, in front of the tank below the sand line and a variety of other useful cleaning measures.</li>
<li>Pipe cleaners. Overflows, pumps and just about anywhere you might need to clean a creavace.</li>
<li>Dremel. When does this thing NOT come in handy for some project... such as building Brandons sump.</li>
<li>Needlenose pliers and/or bone shears are great for SPS fragging.</li>
<li>A good wet/dry vac</li>
<li>Mag flashlight - Useful for finding pests at night</li>

Kent Marine Natulis Sea Squirt Can extend to that length and has a retractable lance as well that can be used for feeding shrimp or other food to fish/anemones/etc.

I acutally used the rotozip with the metal cutting blade to cut the glass I replaced my center brace with in my tank. I didn't know glass would arc and throw sparks, but it did..

It worked but I wouldn't recommend it
