Hello,

I have a 50 gallon reef tank with softies and LPS. I dont have a sump and I am running a HOB filter and reef octopus BH1000 skimmer. I recently added a phosphate reactor and run GFO for about 2 weeks now. I recently had this brown stringy algae that has seemed to subside. Now I am having this dark green algae start to grow on the rocks. I almost resembles turf algae but it blows away fairly easily with a turkey baster. The tank has been set up a little over a year now. I do have a fairly high bio-load. Anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it? Is it some type of cyano. I have had red cyano but never green. These algae issues are driving me crazy!:mad2:. I am also fighting the dreaded bubble algae. Any tricks for that? My emerald does not touch it.

Temp: 78-80
Salinity : 1.025
PH - 8
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 0 -5
Phosphate - ?

I cant remember my alkalinity and calcium but I know they were both within normal ranges.

Ok I will play. It's name is Pete!

Seriously, it is hard to tell from my phone but if those are bubbles I would say "Bubble Algae". How long are your lights on, how much do you feed and how often?

I am going on a cruise.....on my lawnmower around my yard.

I can't tell either , but cyano can grow in shades of black red and green , if it is cyano siphon it out and increase flow to the area's where it settles.
