experience with them thinning down bubble algae? I thought someone recommended one for this purpose, but I can't remember...

B

Hmmm, I never seen mine even eat algae on the rocks (besides the nori on the clip). Apparently, mine inherited its 'show' status by nature...

haha...

NORMALLY I don't add livestock to try and fix a problem, but in this case I'm thinking of getting a few more fish to liven things up anyway.. so he may as well have potential

Did you get a brunette or a blondie? My saltwater antics started with them 'lipstick'. I guess that goes for every male, lol...

I've not gotten one yet. Just considering adding one to my ecosystem :)

donno... knock on wood I've never had an ich outbreak

Lucky!!!

I wish I lived in ATL, or had good LFS's here in Alabama. Here's you $150.00 fish fresh from our ich tanks.

I've been reduced to online ordering fi the one good LFS can't find what I want...

LOL, jk...

In terms of hardiness, they are very tough and not as ich prone as a powder blue/achilles type, or any other tang. They do grow quickly and get big, esp. when they mature and develop streamers. It is best to purchase them small so they will grow into your tank. As far as temperament, they are model fish citizens par excellence...

You and SnowManSnow may be onto something. I've been googling Naso and ich since your post. Been looking for a show fish for my new tank...

My 150 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank sump/frag tank was covered in BA and I got a 5" Naso Tang from Nemo in Duluth and within 3-4 weeks had completely eradicated the BA and is keeping any from returning. My experience is the Naso must be at least 4-5"+ in order for it to eat the BA.
