Need a little help from a fellow ARC'er

Hey guys and gals,

Need a little help over the next few days/week to get my closed loop system back up and running.

Long story short, I need borrow/buy(if I have to) a 1500-2000gph pump until I can get a replacement impeller for my Quiet One 5000. It appears my impeller seized up on me.

Anyone got anything lying around that can help out?

I have a Quiet One 3000 that I use to mix my salt. You are welcome to it... I live in Acworth off of Mars Hill and County Line. Not sure if it will work for your needs...

I do need it back at some point though.

LOL - I understand and I would definitely get it back to you. I appreciate the offer. If no one else can loan a pump with more gph, I'll shoot you a PM this evening.

have you tried soaking it in 10% muriatic acid and 90% water for like 30 minutes? Then take it apart and soak for another 20-30 minutes until all deposits have been eliminated? You can get it at home depot or lowes....paint department.

I have not. Its been soaking in vinegar all afternoon. Currently, the magnet is completely seized around the pin.

I've got a line on a Mag 18 which I'll be picking up tomorrow morning.

Yeah, I'll probably have to order a new impeller or a new larger pump.

If it were me, I'd get both. Bigger pump for your closed loop and then a replacement impeller to fix your current pump so that it can be used on the next project. There is always a "next project"

Thanks to everyone that offered to help. Crisis has been adverted. The Mag 18 is doing what I need it to do until I can get a higher gph pump.

This is basicallyy what I'm looking for in a pump. Roughly 5ft of head, SCWD is rated up to 3400gph, but I want to keep it in the 2200 - 2600 gph range (after the 5ft of head and few 90 degree turns). Thinking about going away from a magnetic drive pump. Any suggestions?
