This coral has stumped me for years. It showed up out of nowhere on a piece of bottlebrush rock. It grows in an encrusting form depositing a calcium skeleton. I have never seen it extend polylps. This pic is about 4 years of growth under 165w of PCs. It prefers actinic light, and will bleach if exposed to light over 40 PAR. Where it is in the tank, it's probably only receiving 20-30 PAR. It has fully recovered from one bleaching episode. Any ideas?

That is a "Steve's Super Green Ding Dong Monti".

But really, that is really cool. I wouldnt mind having a extremely low light encruster like that for the lower regions of my tank, which currently is kinda bare.
