Okay, so some of you may remember seeing my tank for sale this past week. My reason for wanting to sale it, I'll be heading to college next year at this time and wanted to get a tank that was more "self sufficient" than the one I had. I thought about getting either a 70 or a 93 gallon cube(reef ready) with a nice stand and a canopy with LED lighting, a better return pump(Not a Mag Drive!), and I would eventually add an ATO. Now, I am contemplating not selling my 75 and just selling the cabinet and T5 fixture and getting another cabinet and canopy and adding LEDs to the canopy. I am stuck on this decision and am having a hard time weighing which option might be better. Keep in mind, I'm trying to keep this tank as easy to maintain for my parents while I'm gone as much as I possibly can! I plan on coming home every 1-2 months to check on it, if not more.

Edit: Oh! The reason I would sale the existing cabinet is because, the tank would look funny with a canopy covering the top rim and the cabinet not covering the bottom rim also.

How long would you be home for? I personally wouldn't want a tank that I could enjoy only once or twice every couple of months. I would say get you a decent sized tank and set it up how you want it at college that way you could enjoy it more. Just my 2 cents.

Probably the weekend, and breaks. You can't have a tank over 10 gallons in a dorm...not going to happen for me. I've pretty much decided a tank will be staying at my house either way. My parents enjoy it every now and then and I have way too much money invested into it.

^^ +1

Sell your current setup and use the $$$ to pick you up something small for your college room.

Who wants a tank smaller than 10 gallons though?

Who wants a tank they can only see every 1-2 months though?

Make it a college project to build an AIO out of a 10-gal. There are several options for inhabitants; a Pistol/YWG combo, maybe a Clown Goby and a pygmy wrasse of some sort, or just do a shrimp setup with Peppermints. They're always busy and will keep your attention. Then pack it with corals.

I'd much rather have something like this (as small as it is)</em> where I'm at, then to have to wait several months between seeing the tank at your parents house.

It's kind of like telling the crack addict to leave his/her pipe somewhere else and only come back to it and take a hit every 1-2 months...ain't happening! :shades:

hahaha! I may just put up with the tank now and decide on that later. The whole thing is, I just don't want to lose all of my investment.
