So i got this hitch hiker on some live rock and I'm not sure what it is. At first i thought it was a green aiptasia so i started doing research and couldn't find anything. I've also looked up green majano and it doesn't look anything like that either. So if anybody has a clue to what it is that would be great. Here's the pics

I've got it isolated so im not worried about it spreading. I've had it for about 4 months and it hasn't spread, it's only put off one head

touch it and see if it's sticky. Sticky = nem. When I lived in panama city we found little red nems that looked very similar. If it just closes up when you touch it, probably a paly. If you're squimish, a bamboo skewer is a good substitute for your finger

Its pretty small. I would say its a little smaller then a dime. Hmm ill try that when i get home. The way it acts and eats reminds me of a anemone. But i guess it could be some type of polyp.

Does not look like Aiptasia at all. I would agree with the above that it is most likely a paly of some sort.

Definitely Paly or Zoa and I believe there are more at the bottom of the pic. Looks like their closed up and almost melted but they are there. Yay! Free corals!

Okay just got home from work. I started poking and prodding and now im absolutely convinced this is definitely not a palythoa or a zoanthid. Its doesn't have a base like either also the reaction time of it compared to the others is different. Here's a pic of it closed up. Oh and they are 2 seperate pieces.

Hope this helps to id this thing

Well to be honest I couldn't tell. It drew up to quickly. Lol on the plus side it didn't sting me

the way it drew up makes me think nem, but they usually don't like to be near each other. The little red ones would split and move away from each other. I think it looks cool though. Is there a list for dibs on the smaller one yet?:D

forgot to say I bet it isn't photosynthetic. If you want it to live I think you'll have to feed it. I imagine it will take most anything.

Yea I'm currently feeding him one ocean nutrition pellet per day. Lol nope not yet. If you want when they move further away i can try to get you the smaller one.

I'd love to have it. If they're like the ones I had before, feeding=splitting. I would get a new one about every three months.
