Need help w my corals!!!!

I have just started getting into the saltwater tank and I have this coral which growing big and I heard that u can cut down. But I am too scared to do it and dont know how. I been watching few video on youtube but I still dont feel comfortable doing it....if any of u can give me some tips I would appreciate it.

What Kris said. We need to know more about your system . How long has your tank been running? How long have you had the coral?

What typeof coral as well. Different types of corals need to be fragged differently.

we bought this tank from a cop. he had it for 3 years.. after we got it we have added few new corals to it. and few fish. the thank is 55 gals it has the hangon filter system, it has the skimmer and the canester. And we have recently bought a new light fixture for it. its the 48" ho w timer and fans it has the led, blue, white lights the lights are t5. We have had this thank set up for few months now. i don't know the name of the corals its brown in color and tall. i will post some pics of it tonight when i get home.
