Noticed a couple of these on a piece of rock in my sump this evening...they (3) are right around each other, almost touching. They have a red'ish body/mouth and little sweepers, which you can see in the pic. When I put something near them they reach out for it and stick to it. Any ideas??

I have a ton of them. They only come out when the lights are off. And hide way before the lights come back on.

strawberry anemone/club tip anemone

i dont think they are harmful at all

I took another picture with my camera, so it's a bit more clear. Hopefully this will help in ID'ing these things. As I looked around some more, there's another rock in the sump that has MANY more on it...please tell me these are not some kind of pest.

not sure if u noticed my post before that pic, but heres a link

Edit: i never had an issue with them, even though i had a few in my last tank, but apparently "since this species kills coral and anemones when competing for resources".

so im assuming as long as you only have a few it should be ok? lol

in the same family as mushrooms and ricordea they also kill coral if too close

can ricordea kill coral if it's within a couple inches but not touching? I have some purple stylo that's having polyp extension problems. Only the polyps near the tip are fully extended and the rest down to the base is able half extended or less.
