As for your question.T-5's will be fine for what you are wanting to do.
I actually have SPS's and a clam under T-5' plus multiple LPS corals. But I am going to be changing to Metal Halide's and T-5 combo very soon.

Here is a thread where someone did side by side comparisons with a quantum (PAR) meter.

Here is his summary. I would say you should be good, assuming reflectors are decent, of course.

"I have tested them with a quantum par meter also remember the T-12 VHO is 110 watts and the T-5 HO is 54 watts so that a 100% more watts being used with only 40% more lumens. T-5's on good ballasts with good reflectors come very close to 250 watt MH's with T-5's having a reading of about 175 par and 250 watt MH's having a par reading of about 200, PC's came in about 60 with VHO's slightly ahead of the PC's but not even close to T-5's. I can say that T-5's will penetrate about twice as deep as PC's when it comes to a reef tank with almost 3 times the par."

Dawg backs this up with his experience, which as I have said is hard to argue with. There are a ton of people on here keeping even sps with T-5's (higher wattage though). You aren't interested in sps, and want to save power. Go for the T-5's!

ok well as long as everyone says my lps and soft corals will do good under that t5 system i will get it but i dont want to get it if getting the pc with more wats are better ffor my corals

ok well the t5 it is i will never think about wats again the rules just keep changing lol i will get that system andstick with softy and lps no sps or clams as i think they are ugly anyways no offense to those who like them.... thank you all for being patient with me on this i will be ordering this system next week same system just diff place with a lower price....

I think that light will work great. It's only 10" wide so it's going to be a single parabolic reflector. I ran a T5 Nova Extreme fixture with a single reflector and had SPS at the halfway point down my tank doing great. Light isn't everything; it's important, but it isn't everything.

we prob did but i am taking two vicoden and ibprofin every six hours at the moment i tend to forget some things lol ijust had surgury on my wrist i broke it i now have 8 screws and a plate in my right wrist

Well my past experience with t5 was color loss in my sps so I went with 900 watts mh's 400 20k and two 250 14k on a 90 gallon and my light system was less than the price of these t5. You will get different oppenions with different experiences. Hope everything works out for ya
