plumbing quesitons guys...

im looking at ordering the bulkheads I need if I am doing 1/2 tubing then that means I order 1/2 bulkheads... if im looking for one side of my bulkhead to have a hose barb adapter then would I want to get a 1/2 hose barb with 1/2 threads on one side...

im new to this plumbing stuff and i just dont want to order the wrong thing

If you want to have a hose barb adapter, get a 1/2" bulkhead with female threads on the end you need the adapter, then a 1/2" male threaded to 1/2" barb.

Is the tank already drilled? If so that determines the size of bulkhead you need to get. I'm not sure why you are only wanting to use 1/2" tubing, but that wont fit on a 1/2" bulkhead since the measure is the inside diameter for both. You would probably need 5/8" ID tubing to fit over a 1/2" bulkhead. Again depending on the application, you might also want a slip/barb bulkhead so that the inside tube could be removed if necessary.

I have not drilled anything or purchased any plumming yet I'm goin to go online tonight and order what I need Sunday I'm picking up a ev 180 skimmer along with a mag 7 pump which later on will probably replace with like a 900gph rated pump I am getting the pump and skimmer from a guy on the forum...I have been told to step the plumming up on the returns from 1/2 inch to 3/4 and I'm not sure on my drain size either but basically tank will have a internal overflow in rear with a durso standpipe goin out the back. And the returns will be on both sides of tank split to line lock where the returns feed off the pump they go to a Y... I just need to know what size lines will work for good flow... the tank I got this idea from was a tenecor 100 gallon I do know the drain bulkhead. was a 1 1/4 and the return bulkheads were 3/4
