I just got a 34 gallon solana. i want to keep mainly a clown and anemone in it. not worried about corals really.

what would be a good light to put over this? i'm not really sure how much light an anemone needs.

i am thinking a LED lights b/c of the benefits of LED lighting. but i don't wanna pay AI prices. Does anyone know of a cheaper, yet sufficient LED light out there? (and no, i don't wanna make one myself. i'm not handy like that).

thanks in advance.

Sea Atlanta is selling those Black Box LED pendants, would work perfect if you want it now. You could direct order it from China if you would be willing to wait 4 or so weeks. Another option would be to put 2-3 par 38's over the tank.

Sea Atlanta has the same as above but they had them customized with UV led's added. I have talked to the ebay store that I linked above and they will do any custom LED ratios you want (not sure if they can do UV's) but it will take up to a month to get them. So it really just comes down to if you want to wait or just buy it now.

The Par 38s are like..

I'd do 3-4 of these to get full cover over the tank.

hmmm, interesting. do u know if SEA is offering the same price as this one on ebay?

I believe they are 350 with arc discount

Edit: I believe they are 350 with arc discount

I would go with leds. I had a 250w sunpod over my old solana, but if your not interested in corals you don't need that much. I would order the one db posted from ebay, very good price, and if you didn't want to change any of the leds you could get it pretty fast.

sounds good. do u guys think this will be sufficient with an anemone? a few zoas?

eff that, thanh! i ain't rich like you.

and when did u get back on this site! LOL

Lol. Recently. Probably the best with maybe a par 38 bulb in a close second. The par 38 are more cost efficient but AI sol has more control. If control and verisitilty dictates, go with sol, or a diy with flexible drivers. If price is a concern par 38 can't be beat. For a 34 solona, I believe the 2 new par 38 will be able to grow even sps .

thanh, maybe i can do a DIY, but you can do it for me! we'll call it DIT. DO IT THANH-self.

ha, "dit". u know what that means in viet.

the Kessils and the AI Sols are all the rage these days with nano-reefers

Edit: im debating about getting a kessil for my biocube 29

Edit: i wanna say they are cheaper than normal LED fixtures..around the $250 mark but dont quote me on that

Yep, I have orders from china coming in on a weekly basis for my wifes business and stuff usually makes it here in 5 business days. The one I linked is 30 Blue/25 white which would be like a ~14k. There are a couple people selling them in the US for the same price but the ones they have are 25 blue/30 white which would be closer to a 10k.

man, i think i may go with the nano sol now. any sponsors carry these?

Locally I'd call Marine Design or Sea Atlanta or

You'd get 5% off that price too.
