This bta has decided it wants to live right in the middle of some zoas, could it end up harming them?

I believe so, yes.

Will it?

I'm far from expert here, but I'd say seems probable. Keep an eye on the zoas, and maybe use that trick with a light and a piece of PVC to encourage it to move elsewhere.
