New 14g Biocube Up and Running

Here are a few pics of my Biocube. It's still cycling at this time. I think I need to get a Kooralia Nano to move some water around a bit.

Yea I put one rotating and one angled in my 29g, does really well moving the water now..

Which is the best Koralia for my 14g. I see there are different ones for the Nanos.

I'm looking at the Koralia Nano 425. Do you think that is too much flow? I have an old maxi jet 1200 that I put in there to see how it would do and it just caused a sand storm no matter where I pointed it.

Many folks upgrade their existing pump to the 1200, on your small tank I would just add a Koralia 425 yep, that will do the trick unless you plan on light upgrades and SPS corals then you might look at upgrading the other one too a maxi 900 or something

Even the 240 will move nearly 20 times water volume.

The 240 and 425 are the same size, physically. Just the latter moves more water.

The 425 might be overkill for me. I don't want a sand storm. I think the 240 is plenty.

I got the 240 and I'm thinking I should have went with the 425. Oh well. Also it is day 6 of cycling and I have yet to see an ammonia spike. My tests show maybe .25 ppm nitrite though. Any thoughts?

The 240 was more then enough in my Nanocube 12

Yea I guess its a lot for that small of a nano but it's also has a lot to do with the amount of stock in the tank, obviously if you have any large amount in front of the head then it will damper it down yet provide the take with a great flow to help with filtration and oxygen levels...

It has been a while now but here are the latest pics of my cube.
I removed the canopy and added a Par38 bulb. I love it.

I bought it from a guy on nanoreef.com. They are pretty easy to find. There are a lot of places selling them online. Mine originally came from nanotuners.com. I love it. No heat issues at all!

Have you done any modifications in the filtration area?

I took out the factory filter, bioballs, and sponge and I just use some polyfil. I put a bag of purigen and chemi-pure in the second and third chamber. I also have a heater in the 1st chamber. I change about 3-4 gallons every week or two. This tank runs like a clock and the parameters stay right on.
