New ATI SunPower

I picked up a new 4' 6 bulb ATI SunPower from Jenn at Imagine Ocean. She set up an account to get it for me and was able to match Premium Aquatic's shipped price (minus taxes). Thanks Jenn! If you need any ATI bulbs or a fixture she can now hook you up! . I'm replacing 2X250 watt Radiums run on Ice Caps in Luminax Mini's and 3 VHO Actinics. They were just adding entirely too much heat to not only the tank, but the whole room as well. Now, on to the pics.

But you know those pics won't suffice. What bulbs are you going to run? I really liked the ATI Aquablue Special and Blue + bulbs.

The most important question is how much do you want for the VHO?

Thanks! I got 4 Blue + and 4 Aquablue Special. Right now I've got 3 of each in there, but got extras to change the color up if I want to. I'm going to hang onto the other lights for a while in case I change my mind again.

I would probably run 3 Blue+, 2 Aquablue Specials, and one sunlight bulb of some kind, maybe an Aquasun or Pro-Color.

au01st, I started off with this combo loosely based on SunnyX's recommendation from RC. His tank is incredible. I also like a bluer color and these bulbs are supposed to put out major par. But, that's the beauty of T-5; for 20-25 bucks I can completely change the color of the tank.

Thats awesome news that JennM (Imagine Ocean) is able to source ATI bulbs.

Im in the market for new bulbs and will be contacting her immediately.

Does anyone out there have experience with ATI bulbs, enough to aid me in selecting the mix.

I have 14x 54 watt T5's. (2 rows of 7 bulbs, its an 8ft tank)

What mix of ATI bulbs will get me a 14K look with max Par and a good Flourescent look.

I have a predominately SPS and LPS tank.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly I'm no expert on T-5 lighting. I based my choice on what SonnyX uses. He could probably be of more help than I in that aspect. Here's his site

I got a FTS trying to show the color, but it didn't come out too great. I'll break out the tripod tomorrow and try to get a better shot.

Here it is hung over the tank (yes I realize it's a 4' fixture on a 3' tank; I'm hoping to one day upgrade to a 90 or 120). I love the hanging kit! It is so easy to adjust the height! Also, my cooling fan has not come on at all today. I have the fan set to come on at 80.5 and go off at 80. Currently the tank temp is 79.9. With the halides the fan would come on around 4 and go back off around 11 and the temp would climb to around 81.5.
