This may be the ultimate top off if you have RO/DI near your tank and you have a little bit of a risk taker attitude as it hooks directly to the RO/DI.

Seems really well engineered which is necessary for this config. I would certainly take their advice and run this on a timer as well.

Thats alot of $$$ for what you get.If they were around $40 they would probably be worth it. Even so I would still be hesitant on buying one of these due to the TDS creep that may occur. I prefer to wash out my membrane on occasion and fill up a reservoir just to be safe.

An electronic RO/DI shutoff is about $20, the float valve they are using is another $15. Most dual setups are $40-$80 and that is without a good adjustable mechanism or the electronic RO/DI shut off. Not saying it is worth $130, but someone would be hard pressed to build this unit for $40 themselves.

So your paying $95 for the plastic bracket? hmmm not a good value. If I were to spend my hard earned money I would have to go to........... http://www.autotopoff.com/products.html">http://www.autotopoff.com/products.html </a>

For about $100 you could have some quality topoff components(dual float switch, solenoid switch, aqualifter) with a pump.Of course you allready know this Cameron. But others looking at this thread that are new to topoff should check it out.

Cameron what was that other site where you can get cheap topoff stuff?

Cameron what was that other site where you can get cheap topoff stuff?[/QUOTE]I like the AutoTopOff.com stuff, but in this case you would buy the dual float for $50, $31 for the plug in solinoid then $16 for the Float Valve to have a double stop. This is a better setup. An even better setup, IMO would be the dual float for $50, two solinoids for $31 and a cheap surge protector for $5. This way you have dual protection in case one of the solinoids catches. Add in the extra float valve and you have a crazy backup to your backup of your backup.

Yeah it is expensive, but it is the only unit out there I know out of the box can hook up to an RO/DI unit and some top off units are priced near $100.

I just ordered an ATO kit from aquahub. $50 including shipping, I'm going to use a spare aqualifter I have lying around. I'm going to have a 3 or 5G reservoir, too little to throw off either the tank's salinity too much or to flood the tank, and hook it up to a timer as well so that even if it does get stuck on somehow there's only so much damage it can do. I suppose if somehow both the return pump died and the ATO failed twice (bottom float switch got stuck "on" and the top float switch got stuck "off") it could flood by a couple gallons.
