So I just picked up a 150 gallon tank and stand and will be starting up my first reef build after my vacation in mid may (going to be a long process).
What I need to know is, what are people's experiences with using 55 gallon tanks for sumps? I happen to have a spare one of those laying around but i'm concerned about the close quarters in the stand (namely working with the doors on the stand and the height of the tank). I'll have some actual hard dimensions when i get home from work this evening.
I'm looking into a 40 gallon breeder, but would rather go with the larger volume if the size isn't going to be too much of a headache.
since i'm going to sand the whole stand down and restain to match furniture, lowering the bottom board of the stand isnt out of the question. I may end up doing a build thread, just to document my journey when i get the ball rolling.
