Hi all. I have just joined and am looking forward to interacting with the group!!

I started out working at an LFS during college in the early 90s. Had a FOWLR tank with all the usual aggressive guys. Kept a medium reef tank during the early 2000s, but had to let it go.

I’ve recently felt the hobby calling again. I am in the process of starting a 20 gallon reef tank, and am looking forward to interacting with you all.

It’s good to be back!!

Thank you for the warm welcome!

Not much to see at this point (still cycling), but here she is:

Red Sea Max Nano
IceCap Gyre 1K
Cobalt Neo-Therm 100W

Alternating Gyre flow impellers and Seneye system are on the way.

I wanted the system to sit higher, so I built a step out of 2x6es and plywood. Stand is screwed to step and step is bolted to the concrete floor, so stability shouldn’t be a problem :)

The ubiquitous pair of clowns will go in as soon as soon as I start seeing nitrite.

Thanks again! And I will surely be asking for help along the way. It will just be so nice to have this resource available!!

Welcome to the club, the tank looks great I look forward to your following your progress.

Thank you all, very much!

I’ve been the cheap route, and it’s not as much fun that way : )

Honestly, though, I started to go a more modest route, but there was a “mishap” (see my future post in the classified section :/ ) fortunately, I got an incredible deal on the Max Nano.

I do plan to stick around!!

Ammonia and nitrate are at 3ppm, Nitrite is zero - two tiny fish (and NOPOX) going in tomorrow!!!

Thanks again,

—Ron
