Standard reply was that you needed to have the nipple pointing between 10 and 2 on the clock face to get proper rendition out of SE bulbs.
I stopped worrying about it a long time ago, at least in regards to SE bulbs, 'cause I never really saw any rendition differences no matter how it was oriented.

Can't the DE Phoenix bulb only be placed in the holder one way anyways?
