New NUVO 30L

My NUVO Fusion 30L just arrived, and I'm so excited to get it set up! That being said, are there any reefers here who own this tank? I would love to see your setups! I'm still debating how I was to setup the filtration, but the tank design is great!

I got the waterbox 28.2 but it's aio as well. I have two filters socks, a tunze skimmer, an im mini reactor, and a sb reef light for it. Still setting and cycling it. I'll try and send pics when I'm done.

For sure! I'd love to see it! I'm still debating on if I want a skimmer or not. Never used it on my nanos. That's a pretty tank, love it. Definitely send pics!

Love to see them. Mine is going to be a frag and I'll feed a lot so I went with skimmer. If I had sand and rock I'd go without one though.

I'm a little conflicted right now. Not sure if I want to go with 2 AI Primes, since it's a rather long tank, or go with something like what you've got. Currently have one prime on my EVO which im transferring over anyways. It's so stressful! I'm not sure how I wanna set her up yet! I'm open to your suggestions for sure

I think 2 AI primes would be sufficient for that setup. They're good lights.

Like prez said ai would be good. If you want something different check out sbreeflights or reefbreeders. Both are black box and have lots of power.

Do you think a blockbox would provide better coverage than 2 AI Primes? I have no experience using them. My tank dimensions are 36” x 15” x 13” .. It's a really narrow display, which I love

Which SB reef light do you have? The Sbox pro 32 claims to be good but I've never heard any reviews of it. Kind of looks like another Chinese blackbox relabeled with an American name

I've got 2 SB Reef lights. They have a better spectrum than generic black boxes and a warranty. They have a store in Pensacola. I highly recommend them.

Just got the 18 wifi. It is a bit bulky and not as slick looking as the ai primes but I do have two Hydra 26 hd on my display tank. I don't have any review of it yet but it does put out nice light so far.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm just gonna get another AI Prime since they resell easily in case I don't like it. I have a nano skimmer in my 13.5, but not sure it could handle a 30 gallon. Do you have a skimmer you like to recommend?

I actually have this very tank and it’s been up and running for approximately 6 months (I think-it’s been a hectic year). I’ve had to move the tank twice in that time as well because of a carpet installation.

My current setup includes :

Two AI Prime HD’s - kinda sucks price wise but with the long foot print you really need two.

Tunze 9004 DOC (I think that’s the model) - I pulled out one of the filter socks and use it it in the left chamber.

Tunze ATO

InTank media caddy that holds filter floss and I also keep carbon and phosguard in a media bag in the caddy.

InTank Refugium caddy with the innovative marine Fuge light on the back of the tank-(make sure you remove a portion of the black plastic on the back of the tank so the light can get through to the chaeto)

Cobalt neotherm 50w heater

MP 10 (probably should have two but using one)
Custom stand (I built)

And it’s a mostly zoa/softie/ LPS tank.

That's really nice of you to offer, but I legit just ordered that same skimmer and got it in the mail yesterday. I wish you would've messaged me sooner!!!

I set up my 30L a few months ago. I'm currently running a Radionxr15 on the left and a Kessil a160we on the right. I plan on moving my other xr15 for the right side once I am able to move it from the 60gal. For filtration(left to right), I run filter sock>Marine Pure Bio Balls>Heater, Tunze ATO sensor, Return Pump>Refugiumx2(for both sections on the right side). I think I will be moving the bio balls into the middle return section and installing a skimmer soon(considering the newer IM Nuvoskim DC). You can get much more fancy with your filtration, but personally I find this to be a good balance between low maintenance, low ongoing cost, and effectiveness. I wasn't a fan of constantly replacing the various bags or reactor media.

The pic is probably over a month old, but perhaps I'll post an updated one soon. I'm still in the process of transitioning some equipment/livestock from my 60 gallon which is being slowly torn down.

I should also mention I'm running kalk in the ATO to keep those parameters in check.
