Just put a skimz sk181 under my 100g cube. The tank has been running for a little over a month (cycled in three weeks). All components of the skimmer are working properly, but I can't seem to get any skimmate in the cup. According to all setup info, the water is at the correct height. I've got a nice mixture of air flowing through the chamber, but nothing is making it to the cup!

I've seen bigger skimmers on smaller systems pulling gunk, and am getting frustrated with this one! Anyone have any pointers? It's been running for almost a week.

is the foam inside the cup at all ?

Also, what livestock do you have in the tank...

If there is no junk in the water then nothing will get pulled out.

You may experiment with raising the water level a little .

Sorry, but I'm not very familiar with the Skimz skimmers.

Most brand new skimmers require a break in period. So this may be normal until the skimmer breaks in and should begin to produce skimmate within a week of you first running the skimmer.

That's a very small bio-load on a big tank. I wouldn't expect much to be skimmed out.

That's what I'm hoping for. I just thought with 90+ lbs of rock and 80ish of sand there would be mor doc's in the column. I know there are excess nutrients - starting to see some cyano.
