I just thought I would post a thread to introduce myself to the community. I hope this is the right place to post it. My name is Dustin, I am a 22 year old college student, and am starting to piece together my first reef tank. I have had freshwater fish for around 12 years and currently have a 75 gallon mbuna tank. I joined the club (paid member) over the weekend with the hope of making new friends in the reef keeping scene. I just got my tank on order monday so it will be comming in 6-8 weeks, 225 gallon 72Lx30Wx24H acrylic tank. I would like to say thank you in advance to everyone in the community for the help and answers I will recieve with seting up my new tank.

Welcome to your new addiction be sure to check out sponsor area for anythig else you may need since your a paid member you will get an additional discount. Remember to do a build thread with plenty of pics.

Thanks for the welcoming. I will do a build thread although it will be slow, I dont want to buy a bunch of cheap equipment and rush things. I am planning on buying equipment piece by piece over the next 8 months or so. I wanted to start by getting my tank so I can build my system around the tank size. I assumed having my tank will keep me from changing my mind on different dimensions and buying equpiment that I will not be able to use. I ordered my tank from percision custom aquariums and thus far have had nothing but a positive experience. Just an FYI, even though percision custom is not an active sponsor, he does offer discounts to ARC members.

I will post some pictures of the tank stand and canopy as soon as it arrives, should be about 6 weeks = )

For what its worth keep your eye out on for sale threads on here. Unless you just have to have new everything there are some good deals on here all the time .

I would prefer buying some things used depending on price/condition. The biggest reason I bought a new tank is because I wanted a specific dimension and I wanted acrylic.
