I recently heard about this club and have been reading some of the forums.... I am new to the hobby (roughly about 1 month) and I am very enthusiastic about my new salt water tank. As of right now, I have a 75g, basic filter and a couple of damsels.

I would like to turn in into a coral tank, but I am not sure what I am able to do right now with the corallite, that I currently have until I buy a T-5 light.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as well as if folks know where I can get some reasonable coral for starters (I figure I will mess up in the beginning) for a reasonable price, please let me know. PM me if possible

:thumbs:Thanks to everyone in advance

Well Ill be the 1st to say welcome to ARC.

Tell us all a little about your tank like how much live rock and how deep is your sand bed? What kind of equipment are you running like a calcium reactor or skimmer?
You could even post some pictures we always love pictures. I think that would be a good start, besides a membership to ARC. LOL

Cool. Another reefer in Austell. If we can be of any help just let us know.
Welcome to the ARC!

Welcome! Keep your eyes open... there is enough cheap/free starter coral to go around.
I assume you have PC lighting? You don't AUTOMATICALLY have to replace it if you start out with soft corals. Give us a little info about your system, and we'll be glad to help you!

I have a

75G tank
Marineland Multi-Stage C-360 canister filter
Coralife 10,000k Bulb
60 lbs of sand
15 lbs of base rock
15 lbs of live rock
10 hermit crabs
5 damsels

I will probably get rid of the damsels, due to their aggressive state, the fish guy told me it was the best to get to start off my tank.

I would like to start with some small coral, but I am not sure to get and since I will be getting more rock I dont want to murder anything expensive. Are there people in the club who have cheap price coral?
:confused2:

yea I going to get a t-5 light that I have my eyes on in the pet store, aquatics person at the petstore told me that the one i have right now is ok for a temporary fix.

Welcome to the club! I am new too, and the information that I have gotten from the club members has been invaluable. If you need anything at all, just let me know!
