New to the Hobby

My name is Laura, and I am relatively new to the hobby. We currently have a 37 gallon tank, and are looking to upgrade to a bigger tank. (Heart is set on a 90 ish gallon cube). In addition, we have a 13 year old son who is currently scouring Craigslist for a tank for his room. He is begging to join ARC as well, but we're taking it slow and trying not to inundate your club with too much of our crazy family all at once. I am married to FirstFear (who is also on ARC), but don't hold that against me! :lol2:

We look forward to getting to know people and learning a LOT, and at some point, being able to pay it forward.

It has been fun hobby to learn about as a family, but we've quickly learned that none of us are good at "sharing". Everybody will end up with their own tank so we can continue to be a happy family. We also have a 3 year old daughter, who knows more fish and coral species than we do, so we're struggling to keep up! (She will NOT be attending meetings, so she won't show us up!) :lol2:

To be honest with you though the people that do bring a kid to the meetings make my heart a little warmer. Hope to see all 3 of ya next week

If I were you I would plan out who is going to be living in your tank before you decide on the size.

Do you really like tangs? because you will need a longer tank than a 90 cube. That sort of stuff is what should decide the size. Same with lights (decided by coral) etc etc
