Well was bored and looking thru some forums on tapatalk and stumbled crossed this forum.

I'm currently located in Florida and have a 40gallon breeder that is a Zoanthid dominated tank. :)

I currently have well over 70 different types of zoas/palys and every day increasing that number

"Berry" Welcome!! Keep pics coming, I specially always ask for the pics of the filtration as always been said, main goal is to keep water great! :D

Some fellas had moved from here to Florida so you might find members on your area, believe me.

Hola, Senor!

Welcome to the club, tank looks sharp. Looks like you have some flow going on there, hehehe.
What part of Florida are you coming out of? I'm a west coast expatriate, grew up in Sarasota.

Currently the east coast (Melbourne - 45mins East of Orlando)

I currently have redone my tank and still in the process of it. My tank use to have sand and I'm slowly converting it to BB and Z & P dominated tank. Here is what my tank looked like just of last week.

Ment to add some background about me as well but i guess I'm not able to edit my original post.

I recently joined this forum and I'm a zoa addict. I need some sort of AA meeting but in a zoa form haha.

A little history about me:

Currently 19, Live in Melbourne, Fl

Been doing saltwater fish tanks for about 3yrs and freshwater tank about 8years.

I've taught and learned everything on my own either from books or forums.

I've done some crazy research on palys/zoas mostly because I've been bitten by the bug. So any questions about zoas and palys feel free to ask and I'll most likely be able to answer them :)

Thank you Dylan! Mangroves are great for nutrient export! And tank look great as BB! I actually want it to set mine BB too, what it first come to my mind when you said is been done in that such a short time was if you could have had a short mini cycle going on after that.
Nice thing from you offering help when most of the newcomers are thirsty of help, good thing about it is that this help had help from some really nice experienced people willing to help.

Lol I must say that's a lot of help going on haha

Is that just mangroves and water? Do you have a sand bed beneath the water? BTW, very nice coral tank you have there. Do you cycle any light on the mangroves; if so. how often?

Wannabee

Edit: I now see the light above the mangroves. What is the cycle time or do you just leave it on all the time?

Wannabee

There is some live rock in there but other than that its just mangroves, chaeto and water.

My system is set up for Zs and Ps which means I have a high protein intake and a dirty sump/refugium.

also for the light cycle for the fuge its only 12hrs on 12hrs off the fuge is on when my DT lights are on. I have enough turn over with my sumps flow that I dont have to worry about C02 build up

See! What did I just told you? Now you feel more better when you find some neighbors! There is another experienced guy who just moved to Florida last year, I can't recall his nickname, and I actually purchased some stuff from him when he was moving.
