new toys, are they any good?

The tank I bought this weekend came with a few toys. I now have an octopus 3000 reef controller, two T4 velocity return pumps, and a lifegard UV sterilizer. From the searches I did, it appears as though this equipment is not the newest, latest, greatest. Should I keep, or get rid of them? Any experience with these product brands?

No experience with them, but my take is get up and running with what you have, heck you have them already. But if money isnt a problem go out and spend away, I would recommend you get rolling with what you have. Others will chime in.

If it works and meets the requirements of the critters under your care for a healthy life then why upgrade? Use the money to buy better versions of other equipment you need and you'll have a greater overall gain.
