I saw this 125 gallon aquarium at the National Museum of Play in Rochester, NY. I happen to be in the process setting up this exact same AGA 125 gallon with dual overflows, and I was struggling with how to do the aquascaping. I want to get away from the "pile of rocks" that seems to be the standard, but with only 18" front to back, you can only do so much. This tank had a really nice open aquascape with three clumps/pillars (themselves made up of 3-4 pillars) tied together with a couple bridges. There were lots of openings for the critters to move through, and lots of open space. I just thought the whole thing was really well done.

Does anyone else have some pics or vids of open-style aquascapes? I'm looking for some inspiration.

By the way, if you ever happen to be in Rochester, the Museum of Play is awesome. I've been twice with the kids (boys 6 and 9), and still haven't see it all.

that's about how I set up my 135 except I'm not a fan of the bridges, I want to get the corals to grow form the bridge. PM me your email and I'll send some pics of where I got my ideas from

Here's a link to my build using dry rock and acrylic rods.

I'm also a HUGE fan of things being open. When I created the rockscape in my 120 I intentionally left the top half of the tank open for swimming, and created as many caves, bridges n such as I could.

ONE THING I did learn form the exp, though, is that if you make a "bridge" or "overhang" it pretty much shields anything under it from getting light. This is the reason I always put my caps on the bottom of the rock scape.

I LIKE IT

I have spent the last several days looking at aquascapes trying to get a good idea of what I want to do. Although not what I have in mind, I saw this and really liked it. The image comes from this build thread.

Which I found from reading this thread on rockwork. [IMG]http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums/general-reef-aquarium-discussion/44055-rockwork.html">http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums/general-reef-aquarium-discussion/44055-rockwork.html</a>
