No water changes....

Anybody using this with their tanks? Anything that says you don't have to do water changes gets my attention. If you are running this system, I would like to hear the pros and cons. How long does it take for you to break even with the cost of water changes. They range from $2300 to $4900.

Interesting... Not sure how the kidney would function with aquarium water, but we only get about 72 hours of continuous filtration with our patients. That could be an expensive machine to up-keep.

well lets not be quick to knock it. while i agree it is a very expensive piece of equipment, as long as it does what it claims, its a great option for low maintenance tanks. and if this company or others can build off that technology the price can come down and everyones life would be easier. this is idealistic thinking but nothing wrong with thinking positive!

I can go with that. But I think the dialysis "idea" is interesting and def something I would support being explored further. While it may not be any more effective then a water change it does it with no work on the users end that goes a long way towards the enjoyment of this hobby. With that said to me it doesn't justify that price tag but if, over time, that can come down I think the technology is worth exploring.

The Dialyseas unit is nothing new. They have been sold for the last 12 years or so.

I wouldn't wait around for the price to drop much. If you take a gander at the aquariums it has been set up on you will not find many hobbyist class tanks. Mainly high end large tanks seems to be their market niche.
