Non stop HOB overflow gurgling

I have a single tube Eshoppes overflow. It gurgles contantly. I increased the flow, decreased the flow, make sure the pre-filter is clean...
Any ideas? Thank you!

Make a port where air can escape out the top.

I am sure that will work too. But I just figured it out: too much flow as my filter sock begins to clog (duh!). Thank you.
