there is no positive outcome from dosing up the pH in your source water, this is exactly what cost me several thousand dollars in frags this year.
grab a 4 or 5 gallon bucket, an airstone, and pump and try aerating your water for a couple hours before adding to your tank.
My source water has a pH in the low-mid 5's until it's aerated, then it's in the mid 8's.
