I'm currently running a few pieces of rock in a 10:1 water bleach solution. Is it necessary to do anything beyond this? The thread I'm following talks about a 2nd step of muriatic acid. I don't wanna do that if it isn't necessary.

I was thinking just muriatic acid. i've heard that's the best for removing phosphates from rock

If you do use muratic acid use caution, it's very caustic and the vapors can burn your lungs severely, I don't know if it needed or not though.

I don't think that's necessary for just killing off things... from what I have read they used it only to remove Styrofoam from diy rock that they have made. But that's just my two cents. Bleach should kill all.

After bleach does the rock need to be soaked in rodi or saltwater to leach everything out? Is prime needed to dechlorinate?

Chlorine evaporates from water pretty fast. about 24 hours with aeration and it's all gone. I would still use prime any way and not risk it.
