I admit I might have bought too many fish, so don't yell at me:sad::

55 Gallon tank with 35G sump/fuge packed with rock and chaeto.

euroreef skimmer rated at 125G
going to add a denitrator

fish list:
1 small regal tang
1 medium copperband butterfly
2 black & white clown
1 midas blenny
1 lawnmover blenny
2 diamond goby
1 randall's anthias
3 Pylei fairy wrasse
1 coral beauty angel
1 small chromis

I have plenty of hiding space and plenty of water column for a 55G.

I am think of getting rid of the anthias and chromis, or even butterfly, is it necessary?

thanks.

Yeah that's packed a bit tight... how's your water quality?

Any aggression?

Jenn

I confess, I didn't include a yellow watchman goby in fear of getting yelled at...

no aggresson, besides the diamond goby go headbutting.

I had one diamond goby, it jumped into overflow and ended up in sump, I then bought another one, hence 2 right now.

water quality is not too bad, I do 30G water change every 2 weeks. and I think a denitrator is a must now, since I keep quite a few SPS.

wow, I have 6 fish in a 210 and thought I was getting close!! dependent on your water quality I would say get a couple out. I would start with the tang as you'll likely have to get rid rid of it anyway when it gets too big

alright, expect a fish blowout sale if the denitrator cannot handle them.

I'm surprised that the Midas Blenny and the Lawnmower haven't had a Celebrity Death Match. They often don't tolerate other blennies.

Ditto on the Diamond Gobies (maybe you got a male and female?)

Nobody should "yell" at you - but it is a rather heavy fish load. I wouldn't suggest that many fish, in that size of tank. If you're having nutrient issues, that's your answer, even if there isn't any aggression - yet. Given enough time, there is likely to be as the fish grow and/or mature.

You're better off considering what to re-home now, than wait til a major problem strikes.

Midas Blenny and the Lawnmower, they love each other, they sleep in the same hole.

just kidding. the first day, lawnmover tried to give midas a huge bite, midas dodged, and that was the aggression ever since.

You're lucky. I don't house them together, but if 2 accidentally wind up in the same tank, one of them gets moved post haste as soon as we notice the fight.

The smaller fish aren't as much of a concern as the larger ones, at least at this point. The tang and the copperband can get pretty large.

I'd suggest thinning the population all around - not just the big ones or the small ones, but a little out from all the groups.

what if the fish list now stand as the following:

1 small regal tang
2 black & white clown
1 midas blenny
1 lawnmover blenny
2 diamond goby
3 Pylei fairy wrasse

removing chromis/coral beauty/copperband/anthias.

would it be acceptable?

I tried to sell the diamond goby when it was in the fuge, no takers, then I put it back to the DT, now it's impossible to catch him.

If you are going to keep a "grazer" I would leave the coral beauty and take out the regal tang. If you don't care to have one then take them both out.

would you keep both?

regal is my favorate...should have gone for a bigger tank.

No. I would take them both out with that number of fish. For the tank size the coral beauty would be fine if you do keep one
