Not very cost effective - and don't believe any magic claims that it's instantly cycled or other nonsense because there is no such thing, especially with *water*.
I suppose it could be convenient. You would still need fresh RO/DI for topoffs as water evaporates and salt doesn't, so if you always top off with saltwater, before too long your specific gravity will be off the charts.
