I've just become the proud owner of a used MRC Ocean Force 200 Skimmer which is currently sitting in a laundry tub of salt water producing a lot of bubbles. Hopefully, I'll have it in the sump doing the same this time tomorrow night.

Since I don't have a manual and don't want to keep bugging Tim with every question, I thought I'd start a thread and bug everyone else. What is the preffered depth to run it or doesn't it matter since it has a gate valve to dial it in? Do you run with the gate valve under the water or keep it above the waterline? Is the airline made of something special or can I just use regular airline to make it a little longer and is there any advantage to add an airvalve or would that be redundant because of the gate valve? can someone post a picture of theirs? I took it apart to soak and clean it and I think I have it back together correctly, but would like to confirm that. Do you let the output tube go under the water or do you shorten it?

Thanks in advance for any and all inputs!

Should only be around 8" in the water. The gate valve should be above the water. Never saw a need for an air valve and the line that comes with it is silicone but I'm sure a vinyl line will work also. Outlet tube should be just above the water either by cutting it or angling it

Thanks John, I guess we are the only two people to own these.

How high in the neck do you adjust the thick bubble foam? Do you lubricate the cup seal each time you empty and clean it? What do you lubricate it with?
