Octopus XP2000 or SRO 3000 for 110gallon tank

I wanted to get some feedback on these two skimmers. I know the XP2000 is good for 180gal and the SRO3000 is good for 300. I have a good size bio load and would like to have a good skimmer so I can feed my fish 2 times a day and not worry about it. By the way, I have FOWLR tank and its well stocked. Thank you

Jead85, what size tank do you have the xp2000 on?

It's on a 60 gallon sump, with a 75 and a 40 attached.
I got a good deal on my xp2000 if you can get the regular 3000 for similar money I would imagine you would see greater performance out of it.

Are you talking about the SRO3000 or the XP3000 when you say original?

The sro3000 vs the xp2000 are similarly priced. The xp3000 is even more $$

Edit: If budget was not an issue I would do the xp-3000 external a bubble king, Atb,or a reeflo

I was aiming for the XP3000 but the footprint is to large. Now the hunt for another skimmer is on again. Lol

That's all you need. Just enough to remove the cup which is like1/4 inch

really only a couple days, ensure that you have it at the correct height. the top of the outlet really needs to be slightly higher than water level. also have it turned all the way open at first and let it break in, then slowly adjust it till it starts to skim.

Yep. I know what you mean. I have a SRO300 on my 200 total gallon system and thinking bigger. Is it the skimmer company? Don't know. They have been very good customer service wise. But, what counts in the end is results. I would not have gone the route I did had I known what I do now. But, I will likely put an SRO3000int on the market soon (With an extra pump!) if you're interested in going that route.

My on my next system, which would only be 180 or larger with a frag table plumbed in. I would consider a very large simmer, xp-8000 or a reefflo orca. Skimmers start getting very expensive very fast!
