what is THIS ??

It's sitting on an orange monti frag and it wasn't there lastnight.. (I picked the frag up from being half buried in the sand lastnight and set it here on the ledge shown)

it's got the consistency of jello, and it's texture looks like little bumps/bulbs like a ricordea..

whatcha think??

it's in a baggie.. y'all can taste it at the NOV meeting if you like...

weird, when it was in the bag for a couple minutes.. the 'gel' like substance was gone and nothing but orange monti crust was to be found...

Perhaps brown jelly?

in reading the reefkeeping link it certainly sounds like what I observed..

i'm mainly surprised that it LITERALLY appeared overnight (unlike the 2nd link's description)

in any case, it's gone from the tank... next time, I'll try to grab it and some SW in a bag and possibly send it to someone to research... (if they'd be interested)

thank you.. I just didnt' know where to start researching it's identification..
