Ordered new skimmer for future 120g

Pulled the trigger on a new skimmer. This beast should be here towards the end of the week. It will work well with my larger tank coming this summer. I'll get pics up of it running when it comes in.

Why yes I am...it's going to be a little overkill....or a lot of overkill for the time being. I'm going to sell the Octo Extreme 160 with a sicce pump and 4 layer mesh.

oh and the white box is regular acrylic.

You should always aim for double the skimming power (well, you don't have to, but I like to). Mine is rated for a 300g and I only have a about 150g of water.

Totally agree. I have an octo 160 with the ATB pinwheel on my 45 cube...WAY over kill

I'm going to hang on to the BB-HY2000 pump I have on my Octopus skimmer now. I'm going to sell it with the Sicce. It's good to have another pump on hand, that and I couldn't bring myself to selling a bran new BB pump....I would take a huge loss and would rather just have it sitting as back up.

Yeah that's the point. I'm going to be buying a 120G tank as soon as I move and this is the skimmer that will be on it. I'm going to have all my equipment gathered before i move so all's I'll need is rock and sand and to build the stand and hood.

But even with a 120G tank this skimmer is still double what i need. I could have kept my Octopus Extreme 160 with the BB-2000 pump on it and been fine but....it nice to have more skimmer (cone style and external).
