Has anyone had any experience with these overflow boxes? http://cgi.ebay.com/S90-Siphon-Aquarium-Overflow-Box-600g-Reef-SPS-Coral-/380303731642?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item588bde6bba#ht_873wt_905">http://cgi.ebay.com/S90-Siphon-Aquarium-Overflow-Box-600g-Reef-SPS-Coral-/380303731642?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item588bde6bba#ht_873wt_905</a>

I have been using one of the smaller eshopps U tube style boxes on my 125. I need a box for one of my other tanks. Does this come with all thats required to run? i have heard of people using some type of pump with these.... please help.

This is built identical to the CPR units with the exception of having a pump. The CPR units have a nozzle to attach an airline to a Tom's Aqualifter. I've used the CPR version with much success prior to going to drilled tanks.

Here is a better pic of it, someone was selling this one, they added the black part to keep algae growth out.

Here are one's from Aquatraders, which I have not used, but look similar to what you posted. They have the 2 sizes 600 & 1200 gph.

I just got the 600gph one in the mail last week. Im wating on an aqua lifter pump from a member on here to get it up and running. The quality of these are great. It doesnt have the "silencer tube" with it but that shouldnt be anything more than drilling a hole and inserting a small tube.

So does the one from aquatrader require a dosing pump to run or do you just start the siphon manually?

u can use either one manually but if ur power goes out the siphon will not restart without an aqua lifter style pump.

i am tempted to get one.... it seems like it would be nice, but i do like the simplicity of utube style..

You CAN also connect the tube on the overflow to a powerhead that has an aeration port on it. As mentioned, it helps prevent loss of siphon and aids a restart in a power outage.
