over flow is kinda loud any advise

Having a correctly set up standpipe and drain will be the biggest thing. The noise comes from gurgling (not enough air flow, siphon is created, same deal as flushing a toilet) or from splashing (pipe is a straight drop from some height, instead of having some slants).

Frags are doing great, thanks :) - How 'bout your stuff?

Au01st is right - sometimes it's just a bit of a tweak to fix. Is it a Durso-style pipe or something different? Pic or drawing would be helpful here.

Noise is usually the result of turbulance and/or entrainment of air. Anything that you can do to reduce either will reduce the noise.

Will it telescope to adjust the water level? Bioballs have a good use of reducing noise too
