Is it possible to have an oyster in your tank. I know clams are ok!

I kept oysters and lobsters in my old tank for a few months till they became dinner. Problem is that oysters and most lobsters are cold water, your tank is not. If you plan on eating them later, it would not be good to keep them in warm water. Add to that the fact that they are filter feeders and getting them long term care might be a problem.

electric scallops are really look i am going to add some to my NPS tank.

I'd caution against putting cold water species into a warm water tank because possible parasites, fungi, bacteria, etc that might be held in check by cold temperatures could explode in a warm water (and nutrient rich) environment.

Hence, why you do not eat oyster in warm weather months! ;)

I kept a Spiny Oyster for over 3 months. They are strick filter feeders and will not do well unless you have massive amounts of plankton in the water.
