Are there local shops that rent par meters or would purchasing be a better option? How often would it really be used, enough to justify cost?

I think you can rent it through BRS, but unless you like to tinker with your lights or change lights, you really need to only test it once. I only tested my par when I set up new light fixtures and then just leave it alone.

One of the benefits of becoming a supporting member is access to borrowing the club's par meter and/or having a member come by and take your readings with you.

You could buy a used one from here or r2r and then resell it later..the used price holds the value

1- Pay $30 to join ARC.
2- schedule a PAR/PUR reading, or DIY.
3- Done & saved mucho dinero $$$$ which is better spent on many other things.

Your welcome!
