The BoD decided it's no longer going to be a benefit of this club. They mentioned that they will be raffled off soon. I believe Tim @ Keen Reef rents them out per day.

Anyone have a link to buy one then? I am in dire need as I fear I am producing to much light...Guess I would be interested in just buying one

They are an ARC sponsor. $335 on their website.

Believe me, the intentions and its benefits to the club were recognized years ago. That's why they were purchased in the first place. it's equitable administration has been a big problem, from the beginning, thus a lose/lose for the club.</em>

It has been discussed for years and the BoD was no sorrier than anyone else in this club having to make that decision. </em>

I'm sorry, perhaps I should have chosen my words a little better. By no means did I mean that to come across as talking bad about yall.

Thank you. You had me sweating bullets. I thought I was going to get crucified again.

Not trying to sound unfriendly here, but the Club par meters were only given to ARC Members. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you have to be Member to borrow it in the first place.

And to win it at the raffle, too, I hope.

Ok well i also posted a thread on this (member situation) after finding out that we "sold out"....I dont understand wht happened to my automatic payment from my paypal and have yet to talk to the auctual person who is in charge of this...But "Being A Member" really has no concern with the par meter if you guys are going to be keeping it for club use any more....

Man things have really changed alot since Jan/Feb time frame...Alot of pushy-ness going around...at the time I first joined it was a happy go lucky kinda thing where we just had fun...Completly off topic sorry

Pls do keep me/us informed on group power buy

Not really sure what your issues were above? The Google ads are a BoD decision and are only visble to Users. Members never see them. The PAR Meter has always been Member Use. Auctioning them was a BoD decision as well, based on there not being a way to administer their being loaned and retrieved. And you got the answer you needed on your Membership PayPal thread, I believe, from other helpful members. How was any of this pushy?

FWIW, it would almost be impossible to have too much light for SPS corals that have been acclimated. This would bode true to most sun loving corals as your lights are not even a tenth (can't remember, but it's ridiculous) of what the sun pounds on a reef.

FWIW-
~130,000 lumens (unit of reference only) at noon during mid-summer/cloudless day. Most high intensity light systems tend to produce around 20,000-30,000 lumens, but there are exceptions.
