I positioned the 40* in a location toward the front of the tank where clams are situated in the sand bed. I'm much more pleased with the 70* optics. Much less "Spot light" effect. I found the spot light look is much more exaggerated in photos.
I would be curious to see what the PAR is in my tank. All corals are very happy with the change too. They are coloring up better and I still only have the CW @ 65% but both Blues at 100%
