Pearlscale Butterfly in Reef

I have a copperband in my reef. He nips on various brains, so I just don't keep those corals in that tank.

I was told by the proprietor that they were ABSOLUTELY reef safe! They immediately started eating a Green Acropora, which they finished. One died the next day, but the larger of the two thrived and proceeded to eat an entire Red Cynarina. I had to get assistance from another store and disassemble my reef to finally catch him and send him on his way.

THE RED SEA PEARLSCALE BUTTERFLY IS NOT REEF SAFE, PERIOD

That sucks you were told that, man. Thats rather irresponsible. That being said, Ive kept many non "reef safe" butterflies in my reef, no problem.

Exactly. Sometimes you have to manage your stocking to suit your stocking.
