I've never heard of this before, but.....

Yesterday I go by Trey's house, and he totally hooks me up. I get home and after letting the corals temperature acclimate, I start putting them in my tank. First in a nice 2 headed hammer. I come back to put the galaxia in, and my pepermint shrimp is munching away on the one head of the hammer. The actincis were on and I could see the hammer glowing in it's stomach. I kept him at bay until the hammer opend up, and it left it alone. I never would have guessed a peppermint would do such a thing. Especially since I directly feed the little

Are you sure it's a peppermint? Sometimes Camelback shrimp are sold as peppermints and they aren't reef safe.

I caught him with my own two hands in the keys (holed up with a green moray and a dozen other peppermints). So I'm pretty sure it's a peppermint shrimp. I've had the shrimp for quite some time and it has never done anything other than take trips to the sump before. I used to have a frogspawn and it neve touch it. Just don't get why it jumped the hammer so fast.
